ABOUT US
THE STUDIO
Yogaville is an established Iyengar Yoga school led by senior teacher and director, Bronwyn Rust.
Bron started Yogaville more than 20 years ago and we've been teaching yoga to the inner north community of Melbourne ever since. All of our teachers are either certified (or in training) to the Iyengar Yoga internationally recognised standard.
Senior teacher & Director Bronwyn Rust also conducts our teacher training and mentoring program at Yogaville and is an Assessor with Iyengar Yoga Australia.
At Yogaville we work with a method of practice that builds a progressive understanding and a culture of responsibility in our students. You learn how to practice in a way that you can develop and feel confident in your own ability.
We support the health & wellbeing of our local community through various avenues including enabling yoga to be accessible for those who are financially disadvantaged. We provide classes from absolute beginners through to advanced levels and also provide Iyengar Yoga teacher training.
Our studio has a carbon neutral footprint.
IYENGAR YOGA
Iyengar yoga asks us to experience, observe and reflect. It involves being "taught" how to practice asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breath work). Classes combine learning, observing at times and doing.
Iyengar Yoga is a responsible form of yoga practice. It is perfect for developing a greater body awareness, tackling everyday stress and relaxing your mind as tools to understand ourselves better. This active yoga practice is a form of hatha yoga, named after the founder of this modern yoga style, BKS Iyengar.
